PROJECTS PRESS RESUME CONTACT

"Thurston" 18' x 17' x 18" - Medium: Epoxy Painted Steel.

The sculpture was commissioned for the front entry of the Fitchburg Art Museum in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. The steel sculpture depicts a monumental figure posed between two supporting columns of the museum bridge. The final name of the work was chosen in a contest from essays written by students of the Fitchburg public schools.

The sculpture was fabricated by the students of the welding and metal fabrication department of the Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg, MA under the supervision of the artist and their instructors: Tim Wright and Darrell Goodall.

The artist wishes to thank the students, teachers and staff of "Monty Tech" for all their help and support in the completion of this artwork. Without their hard work this project could not have happened.

"Thurston" was recently placed on the Girl Scouts Museum Studies Merit Badge.
