"Runner" - 2009
Stainless Steel - 23' x 18' x 1'-8" - Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN.
The dynamically posed monumental runner symbolizes the athletic activities taking place in the student recreation center. The diversity of the student's shadows contrasts the generic figure highlighting the unique quality of each participant.
The sculpture was purposely sited partially obscured from the interior view so it would appear as if it was running by the window.
At night a custom light source projects shadows of students walking to and from the building.
